Firearm and ammo siezed in Fletcher's Land

One firearm along with several rounds of ammunition was seized by a team of officers attached to the Kingston Central Division on Eddie Lane, Fletcher's Land, Kingston, yesterday.

Reports from the Fletcher's Land police are that about 12:10 p.m., officers were on an operation in the area when they saw a man acting suspiciously. On seeing the lawmen, he opened fire and ran on to a premises, which was searched and one Browning 9mm pistol containing eight rounds of ammunition seized.

He was later held and taken into custody. However, his name is being withheld pending further investigations.
