Iba Mahr says 'Diamond Sox' is Summer's fashion

Reggae sensation Iba Mahr is hoping to bring back old-school fashion this summer with the release of his Notis Records-produced single Diamond Sox

Iba Mahr now joins the ranks of at least three contemporary recording artistes who are trying to reignite the style honed by many Jamaican musicians years ago.

Busy Signal leads the pack with his Bumaye music video, which saw him casting a group of dancers who wore old-school attire, then Konshens and Romain Virgo with their effort, We No Worry Bout Them, which did the same, again drawing attention to diamond socks.

Iba Mahr is known for roots reggae singles such as Great Is Him, Will I Wait In Vain and Babylon Debating.

A music video for Diamond Sox was recently released by the artiste and directed by Jay Will.

"I am still a full-fledged reggae artiste, but this is showing versatility as well as bringing back the real type of dressing as was practised by our musical fathers. This summer is all about being Jamaican and will be different from all others," Iba Mahr said.
