Glengoffe four arrested for fraud

Three men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of breaches of the Law Reform (Fraudulent Transaction) (Special Provision) Act by police in Glengoffe, St Catherine, on Saturday.

Reports are that about 6 a.m., detectives from the Major Organised Crime Anti-Corruption Taskforce (MOCA), assisted by members of the St Catherine North police and the Flying Squad, conducted an operation in the Grateful Hill community of Glengoffe.

During the search of a premises, paraphernalia related to lottery scamming, including several lists containing the identities and contact information of persons living overseas were found. This resulted in the arrest of the four, who are all from Ironshore, Rose Hall in St James.

The four, whose ages range between 17 and 22 years, will be questioned in the presence of their attorneys.
