Woman on fraud rap gets bail extension

A twenty-four-year-old woman who was caught wrongfully using a Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) card had her bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with fraudulent use of a JUTC card is Kenesha Sterling, unemployed, of an Orange Street address.

The court heard that Sterling obtained the service of the JUTC card and pretended that she was the owner.

However, in court, the accused told Senior Resident Magistrate (RM) Georgiana Fraser that she was going to visit her grandmother who was in hospital and who had given her the permission to use the card.

RM Fraser ordered that Sterling return to court on July 3.
