Man found with 1,441 SIM cards faces the court

A man who was found with more than a thousand SIM cards in his possession had his bail extended in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with unlawful possession is Crofton Gavin of a Montego Bay address.

The Crown alleged that on the day of the incident, Gavin was walking in Half-Way Tree acting suspiciously.

A search of his person by the police revealed that he had approximately 1441 SIM cards from telecommunications company LIME and Digicel.

In court, it had been revealed that Gavin did not have a licence to sell the items.

Senior Resident Magistrate Georgiana Fraser ordered that he returns on June 17 at which time the prosecutor will supply his attorney with documents to prepare for his defence.
