Accused theives granted bail

Two high-school students who have been accused of breaking into a man's office space were granted $40,000 bail when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court Thursday.

Shawn Conery and Desmond Lawson are to return to court on August 20, when the matter will be mentioned as the file is incomplete. Allegations are that the men were found and held by residents in an office that was broken into.

The court heard that the owner reported the matter and the stolen items were recovered by the police.

The attorney representing the men said that his clients were innocent as they were completing a job given to them by a man in the area who had paid for the items to be removed.

It is reported that the accused men were paid $3,000 to remove the items over a three-day period.
