Fingerprint ordered for man on assault rap

A man who staunchly refuted the outcome of a medical report done for a complainant he is alleged to have assaulted will stand trial next month in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Clive Palmer. He pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The court heard that Palmer allegedly used a piece of iron to hit the female complainant on her left hand causing swelling and pain.

After the findings of the medical report was read out, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked Palmer, "You didn't hit her?"

Palmer told the magistrate, "No, Your Honour." He will be tried on July 29.

A fingerprint order was also made.
