Woman dies after taking medicine from obeah man
Chad Bryan, Star Writer

A woman suffering from an unknown ailment was taken to a church along Retirement Road on Tuesday for healing, but died before prayers could have been said to save her life.

The 22-year-old woman was taken to the church after being given 'medicine' by an obeah man. However, she died before prayer warriors could have been dispatched to 'rescue' her.

The drama unfolded sometime after 8 a.m.

"They took her here for bishop to pray for her but the damage was already done. He wasn't even here when she came in dead. We know nothing about her, she was just recommended here because bishop is a vessel that God uses for healing," said an administrator of the church with whom THE STAR spoke.

The administrator explained that the woman had gone to a number of doctors but they could not make her better. It is said that her ailment developed sometime after she gave birth to her daughter and received an injection.

"In visiting the doctors, they could not find what was wrong," the administrator said.

She continued that it was then that the deceased woman's baby- father took her to an obeah man for healing.

"Whatever the obeah man prescribed apparently may have poisoned her body," reasoned the administrator.

The police's Corporate Communications Unit is aware of the woman's death and stated that a post-mortem is to be conducted on her.
