Man and woman charged with assault
A man and woman were hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court in a case and cross case on Wednesday, after they were involved in a heated altercation which turned violent.

Charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm are Dawn Hines and Kenneth Scott.

The court heard that on day of the incident, Hines came to her father's house to find Scott inside washing a plate. Scott claimed that Hines' father had asked him to buy biscuits, however Hines refuted those claims.

During a heated argument, Hines locked a gate on Scott's fingers, which caused a fight to start. Scott eventually left the house and went home after he was told to leave. A few minutes later, Hines, along with her 'entourage', came down the street towards his house, prompting, Scott to hide in his yard.

Soon after, during another altercation Hines was injured with a machete chop and Scott sustained injuries to his hand.

Hines has denied the allegations of Scott.

They are to return to court on July 16 for where witnesses of the incident are expected to be present.
