The summer is certainly looking up for the young entrepreneur, Daan Sutherland, grand prize winner in Digicel's football promotion that was launched five weeks ago in partnership with Kia, official World Cup 2014 partner.

When faced with the ultimate decision, the 29-year-old opted for the brand-new 2015 KIA Picanto instead of an all-expenses-paid trip for two to Brazil. The telecoms leader began the promotion with only one grand prize, expanding later to include the car - giving customers even more value to choose from.

Unable to contain his joy at the official prize handover at the KIA office on Monday, Sutherland said: "I really wanted the trip to Brazil. It would be great to see my team [Brazil] play in their own country. But when I thought about it long and hard, I chose the car because I knew it would help my business!"

Sutherland, self-employed for almost two years, operates Madd Cre8tive, a business that offers graphic designing, printing services, photography, and a recording studio. "It's great to know my business is going to get such a huge push when all I did was buy some credit online to renew my data service!"

Second-place winner Monica Taylor, who received the all-expenses paid trip for two to Brazil to watch the World Cup finals, was beyond excited. "I was at work when I got the call and I was so surprised! I would top up all the time and see the message saying I have been entered into the competition, but I never actually thought that I would win," Taylor, who loves the German team, said.

Head of Recharge at Digicel, Annalise Harewood said: "As a lifestyle brand, Digicel wanted to give our customers the experience of a lifetime this football season. We are delighted to have been part of the many memories created this summer."
