Empress Eko - Contributed

Leisa Angella Reid, formerly Lady Key Key, now Empress Eko, originally of West Avenue, Central Village, St Catherine, is a talented female artiste known to be unique and versatile.

She started writing songs at age 12 and has now grown into a dedicated songwriter/artiste. Empress Eko released her first single in 2006 titled Single Mothers. It was heavily rotated on Irie FM.

She has performed on a number of stage shows all over Jamaica, including Manchester Fiesta, Bash in the Valley, Fantan Mojah's Earth Strong, A St Mary Mi Come From, GT Taylor's Extravaganza and Tony Rebel's Rebel Salute, to name a few. She was featured in The Beat Magazine in 2007 as well.

Growth came when Mark Jennings of Free People Movement introduced her to Jahema Myers, founder of Category Fyvve Jamaica. Myers fell in love with her delivery and style of music. He allowed her to record on his rhythms, which propelled her career.

A month ago, a friend sent some of her songs to US-based Jason 'Jahson' Mitchell from GFAMM Entertainment. He was very impressed and is now very interested in signing her to his label. Empress Eko is grateful and is very thankful for the opportunity. Eko is now moving full force towards her goals in music and the sky is no limit for her, with help from GFAMM.

Jahson is currently producing a video for her song Know Weh You Want. An all-out promotion will also be done on Facebook, YouTube, Soundcloud and other social networks.
