Man, teen charged for robbery

A 19-year-old man who has been jointly charged with an underage boy after they robbed a 15-year-old of his cell phone was sentenced to nine months' imprisonment last Thursday.

Ossive Brown, 19, and the 16-year-old teenager were sentenced in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.

Brown will be spending the next nine months in prison, while the 16-year-old boy was given a Correctional Order.

Allegations are that on the day of the incident, a 15-year-old boy was standing on the roadway with some female friends when he was robbed of his cell phone. The court heard that the accused males were subsequently chased, held and handed over to the police.
