Reggae singer Mamakaffe is back in the island after a two-month promotional tour.

The tour kicked off on April 3 in her homeland of the Ivory Coast with a performance at the 24 Hour Reggae Festival in Abidjan. The response to her performance at the festival was overwhelming.

"I was surprised by the response of the audience, they were so welcoming and supportive. The whole performance was a very exciting experience for me and the audience," she revealed.

While in the Ivory Coast, Mamakaffe also performed at the popular 2 Plateaux venue in Abidjan. This was followed by performances at several other venues.

"I also did a number of performances at other venues in the Ivory Coast, which were also well received. I had to play the drums on a number of occasions and this was also well received by the people," said the artiste.

In May, she left the Ivory Coast for Ghana, which is fast becoming the capital of reggae music in Africa. She did two shows there

"My experience in Ghana was very good, the people there were very nice to me, they treated me like I was a superstar. My single Beauty Of Jah Plan, featuring Hefla Nyah, is very popular over there. It has been nominated in the Best Song by A Duo or Group category of the upcoming Bass Awards. The Bass Awards is like the Grammy Awards in Ghana," said Mamakaffe.
