Residents urged to request proper id from the officers

The Police High Command has taken note of several crimes committed over the last few weeks in the St Elizabeth division, by unscrupulous persons purporting to be members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF).

Residents are being urged to ensure that proper identification is sought of officers, to ensure that such persons are in fact members of the JCF, operating within the precincts of the law.

Residents are being reminded that officers have a responsibility to identify themselves when conducting their lawful duties and can be properly identified by their identification cards and badge numbers which appear on uniforms, ballistic and cloth vests.

The police are appealing to residents support them, so as to minimize the risk of being victims of murders, robberies and other crimes.

Contact your local police immediately to report any suspicious activities.
