Woman remanded for dousing another with harmful liquid

A woman who used a corrosive substance to douse another female was remanded until Monday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Suzette Morais.

The Crown alleges that the complainant was sitting on a wall in her community when, deciding to tie her lace, she saw the accused walking in the company of another female. One of the females allegedly said, "see the gyal ya."

The accused went into her bag and splashed the corrosive liquid on the complainant. Her face and arm was covered in the substance. She then picked up a piece of board to defend herself but had to be carried to a yard to have the substance washed off.
