Cops seek help identifying dead man

The police are seeking the public's assistance in identifying a man beaten and stabbed to death in Cross Roads on Emancipation Day, last Friday.

The deceased is known as Patrick Roberts, o/c lust. He is approximated to be in his 50s, of a dark complexion, about 130lbs in weight and sporting a short dreadlocks hairstyle.

Reports state that about 2:30 p.m., the deceased was seen being chased by two men armed with knives. The men were able to subdue Roberts in the parking lot at 25A Half-Way Tree road, where they repeatedly kicked and stabbed him all over his body. It is alleged he escaped to a nearby business premises, where the police were alerted and the man taken to hospital. He was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police say the deceased was clad in a black undershirt, dark blue pants, and black Nike sneakers.

"We are seeking the assistance of any family members or close friends of the deceased in positively identifying this man. Anyone seeking to contact us can call me at 378-0548, or the Cross Roads CIB at 926-6657, or 119," said an officer in charge of investigations, Detective Corporal Gosford Daley.
