Hundreds attend Frenchbook

CURTIS CAMPBELL, STAR Writer

Frenchbook, hosted at Mas Camp, continued its winning streak by pulling out hundreds of patrons in its recent staging as a part of the Rum-Bar Flex Week package.

The venue was beautifully decorated with fancy lights and colourful fabric, and the music was on point.

As early as 9 p.m., patrons were out in their beachwear, despite the fact that Mas Camp is nowhere close to a beach. The promoter opted to use a strut-supported water sprinkler, however, to compensate for the missing beach, and some patrons weren't shy to indulge by dancing under the sprinkler.

The general dance floor was kept dry as well as the VIP area, and patrons flocked the bar consistently for top-ups courtesy of Rum-Bar.

The Turbo energy drink ladies were present and they literally danced all night, ensuring there was no lack of action on the main stage. Dressed in red and black bodysuits, they performed to every single selection played by the selector.

DJ Flabba Dabba and Ikel Marvellous were spectacular on the night, whipping up hype singles to keep patrons dancing. Other DJs who did the event justice were ZJ Liquid with his strong reggae set and Team Shella who had patrons doing old-school moves.

Recording artistes Aidonia and Alkaline gave strong performances to end the event on a high note.

Also on under the Flex Week banner, new Water Party Wet Flex did not pull thousands of patrons. However the hundreds who turned out definitely basked in the liquor, water and powder. For ZJ Ice and Flabba Dabba, it was business as usual and they managed to entertain the small, but energetic audience until minutes after midnight.
