Four slaughtered cows were found in a motor vehicle in the community of Balcombe Drive in St Andrew, early Tuesday morning.

Residents say they awoke sometime after 5 a.m. to the flashing lights and sirens of police vehicles when men travelling in a 1991 Nissan AD Wagon were cornered in a section of the community.

The men accused of stealing the cows escaped on foot.

A senior officer at the Hunts Bay Police Station confirmed the incident.

He explained that a police team chased a vehicle into the Tower Avenue area, then into Olympic Way then into another section of the Waterhouse community in St Andrew, where the vehicle carrying the carcass of the cows was found.

The senior cop also revealed that the vehicle was registered to a Clarendon resident.

Investigations into this incident of praedial larceny continue, the police said.
