i-Octane dislocates shoulder, performs despite doctor's orders

Reggae and dancehall artiste I-Octane dislocated his shoulder during a performance in Europe recently, but still managed to complete his set.

The entertainer, who was on his 'My Journey'tour, was performing during the Reggae Geel show in Belgium on August 2, when he jumped from the stage, missed his target and fell, completely dislocating his right shoulder.

According to the Missing You singer's camp, without missing a beat - literally - he clambered back on stage and bravely performed for another 45 minutes, without the fans even being aware of his agony, even giving two encores.

"I-Octanerecalls that in his head he screamed 'No!', but, despite the intense pain and suffering, he put a smile on his face, went back on the stage and did another song. After the second encore, and following the same script, he quickly put down the mic and told his team, 'Take me to the hospital now, my shoulder is on fire'," a release said.

It is further reported that doctors ordered the artiste to rest his shoulder for two weeks, but he refused as he had Reggae Jam in Germany the following night and then Reggae Sundance in The Netherlands on August 9.

He performed for nearly an hour to thousands of appreciative fans at Reggae Jam, doing a second high-energy stint on stage with Ky-mani Marley, who called him up for them to dotheir collaboration, AYah We Deh. I-Octane also performed at Reggae Sundance.

He performs in St Maarten today and heads to Canadaon Sundayfor the Montreal Reggae Festival. Belize beckons on August21, then he rounds out his overseas engagementswith shows in the USA - Georgia onAugust 29,and North Carolina onAugust 30.
