51-y-o held for smuggling J$7m worth of cocaine

An elderly woman is scheduled to appear in court today to answer charges relating to drug trafficking after she was arrested Tuesday with cocaine worth J$7 million at the Norman Manley International Airport.

Police reports are that 51-year-old Elowayne Brackett was arrested and charged after she was allegedly found with cocaine.

THE weekend STAR gathered that Brackett arrived shortly after midday from Trinidad.

The drug was discovered during a search of her luggage.

She has since been charged with possession of, dealing in, and importation of cocaine.

Brackett will answer to these charges in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court.
