High hopes for G7's 'Nah Hold Nuh Vibes'

G7 - Contriuted

Dancehall artiste G7 is extremely optimistic about his brand new single, 'Nah Hold Nuh Vibes'.

The hard-hitting single, which gives props to a number of dancehall music innovators including Daddy U Roy, King Stitch, Super Cat, Josie Wales, Tenor Saw, General Trees, Major Worries and Sister Nancy, was produced by top-flight producer Rohan 'Snow Cone' Fuller on his Nuh Fraid rhythm.

G7 said the lack of creativity that is displayed by some new dancehall acts is hurting the local music industry.

"I'm not fighting against anyone, but a lot of the current dancehall acts are not doing anything to uplift and maintain the business. The veterans in the business did a lot of hard work to establish dancehall music and we the younger generation should take it to a higher level. Right now the business is in a sad state of decline because of a lack of creativity," said the artiste.

Nah Hold Nuh Vibes was released last month and is currently enjoying heavy rotation on a number of radio stations including IRIE FM, HITZ 92 FM and LINKZ 96 FM.

According to street promotion guru Boswell 'Stampede' Lammie, Nah Hold Nuh Vibes, has the potential to be a huge hit for G7.

"I've been pushing this song very hard in the streets and it's getting good response at all the sessions and parties around Kingston, a lot of selectors are giving it genuine support. I think it is going to be a very big hit," said Stampede.

A music video for the single is currently in the works. "We are currently in the process of shooting the video. We hope to have it completed and ready for release before the end of the month," said G7.
