Minister Blessed 'Reps Christ'

Gospel deejay Matthew Blake, more popularly known as Minister Blessed, has released his first single for 2014 entitled 'Rep Christ'.

The song was released along with the music video on August 9, 2014 and has been creating a storm as it gains momentum on the gospel scene.

In a release, Minister Blessed said the song delves into the reality that Christians may be tempted to deny Christ for want of money, fame or sinful lusts. He uses himself as a testimony to encourage fellow Christians to shun these distractions and firmly "Rep Christ anywheh we go".

Rep Christ was produced by RB Records and the video directed by Raymond Simpson. The artiste says, so far, the song has received positive feedback since its debut on local radio and has been creating a buzz on social networking sites.

Minister Blessed is known for songs such as Dandy Shandy, Glad Bag Buss and Gospel Minister. He has released two studio albums entitled Purpose and Keep Pressing On.

St Ann-based recording label Osujah Records, established in 2013 by its founder and CEO, recording artiste and entrepreneur Lady Donna, has recently been making strides in the local and international reggae music industry.

She and the label have been spreading the message of cultural upliftment and spiritual growth, which was one of the fundamental objectives of distinguished black civil rights leaders of the past, such as Jamaica's first national hero, Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

Lady Donna, real name Donna Burnett, who originally hails from Kingston, has always been a humanitarian and a philanthropist and has always held steadfast to the notion of creating a music-based entity that would exemplify the basis of black cultural and community development

As such, through Osujah Records, she has since sponsored community-based, non-profit events, such as Relay for Life, hosted by the Jamaica Cancer Society last month, The Walkers Wood All-Age School's fundraiser, and has even hosted a community football competition aimed at bringing together the youths of Beverly, St Ann, via good sportsmanship.

The label, which also supports healthy lifestyles and wellness, has produced a natural juice line called the Osujah Juice Master, which has become a staple at major Reggae events such as Rebel Salute and most recently The Marcus Garvey celebrations in St Ann, for which it was also a sponsor.

Osujah Records recently signed St Ann-based upcoming artiste Anaicon, whose single, True Identity, is now being heavily rotated on local radio stations. Other releases include Lady Donna's Reject Failure and Save A Life.
