Two men charged for stealing TV

Two men accused of stealing a Samsung television appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Charged with housebreaking and larceny is 19-year-old Darnel Gayle and 19-year-old Shiveron Hayden, both of Kingston 13 addresses. Both men pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Allegations are that, on July 10, the complainant secured his home at approximately 8:30 a.m. and left for work. He reportedly returned home at approximately 2:30 p.m. to discover that his front door was damaged and his house broken into.

He reportedly discovered that his 32" Samsung television, valued at $45,000, was missing. Investigations led to the arrest of the accused men. It is said that, when cautioned, both men admitted to their involvement in the alleged crime.

Subsequently, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey granted Gayle bail in the sum of $40,000. Hayden, who was granted bail in the sum of $30,000 prior, had his bail extended. Both are to return to court on September 25 for a mention hearing. A fingerprint order was also made against both men.
