Nefatari nominated for Urban Threshold's Underground Music Awards

Jamaican Reggae Pop artiste/model Nefatari has received a nomination for the prestigious Urban Threshold's Underground Music Awards.

Nefatari is the first Jamaican artiste to be nominated for the award, which has been won by several commercially successful acts including Nicki Minaj, MGK, Cory Gunz, J. Cole, Freeway, Lil Mama, Killah Priest, Remy Ma, Styles P, Papoose, Saigon, Lumidee and Fred The Godson.

The award show has also honoured hip hop stalwarts like Whodini, Brand Nubian, Ice T, Naughty By Nature, EPMD, Slick Rick, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, MC Shan, DJ Red Alert, DJ Kid Capri, Kool G Rap, M.O.P., Ralph McDaniels, DJ Kay Slay and DJ Envy.

Nefatari is also the first Caribbean artiste to perform at the Essence Music Festival as a background singer for American singer Lindsay Lohan. She has also received features in Vogue and Glamour magazines among others, for her sense in fashion.

The reggae pop singer is nominated as the Most Promising Female Artist at the 11th annual Underground Music Awards.

"I'm honoured and proud to be nominated for an Underground Music Award. Many top artistes have won this award and so as an up-and-coming artiste I am proud, so it reminds me to keep pushing. Hard work pays off." stated Netfatari.

The show will be hosted on September 21, 2014 in New York City. All Jamaicans and fans of Nefatari's music are encouraged to vote, as the winners of the Underground Music Awards are determined via online voting by the general public. Voting is allowed once per day everyday until September 10th via phone or computer. The line to vote online is http://www.yoraps.com/uma2014/most_promising_female.html.

Nefatari recently released a new single called My Buddy produced by Tony Bless. The singer says the single has been received to positive reviews, and is making its way on to various international airwaves. A supporting video is to be expected within the next few months.
