Paul Elliot climbs music charts

Paul Elliot

Stronger Production's Paul Elliot continues to enjoy a rich vein of form with his recently-released music videos dominating charts locally and internationally.

The veteran reggae singer, whose career has spanned three decades, has had a rather quiet presence in the reggae industry for years, but said it was due to extensive overseas engagements and a lot of behind-the-scenes work.

However, since the releases of In The Valley of Decision, Vous, Reggae Music Tun Up and What's The Agenda, featuring Mackie Conscious, the baritone singer has been generating buzz in key dancehall and reggae circles.

The videos, directed by Elliot, have been currently enjoying strong rotation on channels such as HYPE TV, RE TV, MD TV and CVM Plus. Internationally, the charts include Clinton Lindsay's New York Foundation Network, Mickey B Top 10 and WAVS, BBC3 in England, South Florida charts and Future Movement in Atlanta.

The songs were released three months ago, digitally, by Zojak International on Amazon, CD Baby, iTunes etc. The videos are also doing well on YouTube, convincing Elliot that his glory days are fast approaching.

"The love in the streets is tremendous. All the right people are giving the material strength. It is a sign that better days are coming," he said.

Reggae Music Tun Up, the latest of his songs, was jointly produced by his label and King Jammy's Records. The track has become a favourite in the streets due to its wit and hard-core appeal.
