Mi will murder him enuh! Mi will kill him enuh!" threatened an irate complainant in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday, after it was revealed that he was in the wrong in a matter with his housemate over electricity.

Charged with unlawful wounding is Alpha Hewitt of a Kingston 20 address.

It is alleged that on March 29 at around 12:30 p.m., the complainant was watching the television when the electricity went off, he then visited Hewitt's room to ask why the electricity was off.

argument developed

An argument developed and the complainant reportedly sprayed an air freshener at Hewitt. Hewitt allegedly used a machete to cut the complainant on his hand, injuring him.

The complainant told the court that he and the accused have had a long standing issue since he moved into the house.

"Him (the accused) is intentionally aggravating me by turning off the electricity and water. Him waa me become somebody weh me nuh waa fi be and end up pan di street."

After admitting that he did go to Hewitt's room and sprayed him with the air freshener, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey told the complainant, "if what you are telling me is true, then what you did was unlawful. You can't go to someone's room and spray them with air freshener."

RM Pusey's remark upset the complainant, who then threatened Hewitt's life expressing his frustration.

The senior magistrate berated the complainant for his outburst and warned him not to interfere with the accused to which he remarked, "he's the one interfering with me!"

Hewitt and the complainant are to return to court for trial on November 20.
