Double murder hits Truro district

A teen is among two persons who were fatally shot yesterday in Truro district, Westmoreland, while a third victim remains hospitalised, THE STAR understands.

The dead men have since been identified as 17-year-old Randy Rowe and 27-year-old Kemar Samuels.

Information reaching our news team is that about midnight on Tuesday, unknown assailants attacked the three men while they were heading home from an event in the community.

Reports are that heavily armed men pounced on the group and fired shots, hitting all three.

THE STAR gathered that the police were summoned to the scene and the injured men were transported to the hospital.

Rowe and Samuels reportedly died while undergoing treatment, while the other man was hospitalised in serious but stable condition.

When THE STAR contacted the Westmoreland Police Division yesterday our news team was told that a motive has not yet been established.

The police said their investigation is ongoing.
