D’Angel and ASHE join forces on new music video
D'Angel says that for 2021, she will be amping up the production side of her music and has teamed up with members of The ASHE Company to get the job done.
The I'm Blessed singer is looking forward to releasing her first official music video for 2021, a production she did with ASHE.
"Working with the ASHE Company is always a vibe. I've been collaborating with them on different projects over the years, and it has been mutual support. You can't go wrong when it comes to being aligned with the creative empowerment and transformational centre of the world. In fact, a few of my team members are former employees of The ASHE Company, and that's how the link was made. Since then, it's been a great partnership," she said.
D'Angel said her new single Gud Gyal is about women stepping into their own independence and confidence without feeling obligated to a man.
"I'm always about female empowerment, it never takes a rest with me, and I wanted this video to show that. ASHE has always supported me, and so I knew they were the best to help me get this message across. I am fully confident in the efforts of all the creatives involved, and I really believe this video could be one of my best masterpieces so far," she said.
She noted that ASHE member Brand Marlon Anthony did the choreography for the video.
"The video was directed by ASHE's Ifidel Williams and my team member Wraynor Allen. I am just so excited for everyone to see the final production," she said.
Anthony told THE STAR that it has always been a dream to work with D'Angel and said she was a joy to work with.
"Her vision for what she wanted the choreography to look like was very clear, and she was always willing and ready to work. I choreographed the routine in two hours with the dancers, and she loved it and decided that she wanted to dance as well, and she was a very quick learner. I only did one rehearsal with her," he said.
Speaking of great things, the choreographer says he hopes the project will open many more doors for him in the local entertainment sphere as he is looking to expand his horizons.
