Stone Love's young gun, Gugu Mental's birthday celebration in Tivoli Gardens, west Kingston, on the weekend, was a musical fest, as three big sounds, Stone Love, on which he plays, Tivoli-based Swatch International, and St Ann's Bass Odyssey played authentic dancehall music for the crowd.

Buoyed by the cheers from partygoers, an impromptu clash between Bass Odyssey and Swatch International took place, to the delight of everyone.

"Yuh know Swatch International can't test Bass Odyssey. Bass Odyssey a de world sound. Dem man deh full a dubplate, nuh sound cah test dem man deh," said popular resident Booka T. The clash, which started in the wee hours of the morning, ended abruptly with most persons pointing to Bass Odyssey as victors.

Also sharing in the festivities was veteran dancehall artiste Tanya Stephens, who had a cameo performance near the end of the event.

Earlier, Gugu Mental alongside Randy Rich played a few Stone Love staples that have made the sound system famous.

Here are the highlights.
