Detainee uses head to smash police station door
A man facing a gun charge, reportedly used his head to smash a glass door at the Half-Way Tree Police Station.
Nicoh Brown is set to return to the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court with full compensation of $180,000 for malicious destruction of property. It is reported that on April 28, the 23-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of shooting with intent, was being escorted from Half-Way Tree to the Duhaney Park Police Station when he started behaving in a boisterous manner. Brown reportedly broke a door that leads to the reception area of the station. He reportedly told a cop after his outburst that "Officer, me just frustrated and tired a jail."
Parish Court Judge Lori-Ann Cole-Montague expressed great disappointment in Brown's behaviour.
"This is the police station. You're being escorted out and you decide to head butt the door and mash it up. That is very disrespectful of you Sir, and I'm very disappointed," she said. "You will pay for the damage." Brown's attorney asked for some leniency for the sum to be paid but Cole-Montague was adamant that the cost generated would remain.
