13 persons arrested for firearm seizure

The Westmoreland Police have confirmed that 13 persons were arrested in relation to the seizure of one 9mm pistol and 10 rounds of ammunition from a premises on the West End main road in the parish.

It is reported that lawmen carried out an operation in the area about 2:45 a.m. when the dwelling was searched and the firearm and ammunition found.

The identities of the arrested are being withheld pending further investigations.
