Police probe murder of vacationing US citizen
KINGSTON, Jamaica, Nov 29, CMC – Jamaica police are probing the death of a 53-year-old American real estate investor, who was shot dead in Shaw Park, Ocho Rios, north of here on Monday night.
The police have identified the man as Phillip Bradly Crain, from Garland, Texas, who was vacationing at a residence he owned in Shaw Park.
Media reports said that Crain was at the residence when two men armed with handguns entered the home and demanded money. The police said the gunmen’s demands were not met, and they opened fire on Crain, who had arrived in Jamaica on November 13, killing him on the spot.
Crain’s wife, their son and another person at the house, were not hurt by the gunmen.
So far this year, 1, 380 people have been murdered here as compared with 1, 322 for the same period last year.
