Shotgun found in motor car

A team of officers assigned to the St Elizabeth Police Division seized a firearm and one round of ammunition during an operation along Providence district, Maggotty, on Thursday.

Reports from the Maggotty police are that about 3 p.m., the police spotted a Toyota Axio motor car with two men aboard driving along the roadway. The driver was signalled to stop -- however, he stopped the vehicle and both men ran. The vehicle was searched and a shotgun with one 12 gauge cartridge was found in a bag on the back passenger seat.

No one was arrested in relation to the seizure.
