I am drowning in debt
Dear Pastor,
I am writing this with tears in my eyes. I am at the end and ready to give up, with so much suicidal thoughts. For the past two years my life has been a living hell.
At one point, a man told me that he can see that I am tired and each time I try to do something good to better my life, someone has put a stop to it. My financial life is a living hell, no matter how I try to better myself. I have ended up in so much loan debt.
People have been dragging my name through the dirt, and also threatening me. I am so ashamed of myself at this moment. The worse part about all of this is, when I was on my feet I helped so many people. I even had my last and gave to people; and now I want some help and everybody is turning their backs on me.
I need some advice before I end up doing something I would regret.
S.M.
Dear S.M.,
Evidently you are having some financial problems, and even more than financial. You are also accusing others of your failures.
You are even listening to a particular man, who is trying to make a fool of you. He gives you the impression that he is a seer, and things will turn around and life will become much better for you if you were to listen to him. There are many of these types of people around.
You should get a hold of yourself and stop listening to what people say about you. You say you are ashamed of yourself, but what are you ashamed of? You probably have low self-esteem. Spend much time in prayer; and if you become depressed at all, make an appointment to see a family counsellor.
I will not be surprised if this man, who is always talking to you about your situation, is trying to have an intimate relationship with you. Watch these men; such men don't mean you any good.
Pastor
