Only $100 Notes For JLP's Seiveright's nomination fee
Waving flags and clapping pot covers, Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) supporters gathered in their numbers and colours a little distance away from the Electoral Office of Jamaica (EOJ) in Morant Bay, St Thomas where caretaker for Eastern St Thomas, Delano Seiveright, was to be nominated.
It was a joyous occasion for labourites of all ages – young and old and in between.
Seiveright arrived at the EOJ at the Myrie's Plaza in Morant Bay at around 10:40 and was nominated a little over ten minutes later.
The $3,000 nomination fee was paid in full using solely $100 notes.
Following his nomination, Seiveright told reporters that he would waste no time in attending to the needs of the people of eastern St Thomas. Issues, he said, that have been plaguing them for over 20 years.
Dr Fenton Ferguson of the People’s National Party (PNP) is scheduled to arrive for his nomination sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.
