Newborn baby missing at UHWI
A newborn, less than a day old, has gone missing from the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) earlier today.
Reports reaching THE STAR are that the child, whose mother and father are employed to the hospital, went missing shortly after 10:30 a.m.
The child was born yesterday at approximately 10:42 p.m.
The father told our news team that his wife was given medication at 10 a.m. and fell asleep with their baby in a cart by her bedside.
He told THE STAR, “Everybody is always on the ward in the morning and the baby disappear and nobody see it.”
The matter has been reported to the hospital's management and the police.
