Technology can add new dimensions to sex
I have spoken about all the benefits that one can get from having a healthy and active sex life. From improved health, to better quality of life, to that euphoric feeling you get right after an orgasm, sex is a wonderful experience. However, with all the beautiful things that sex brings you, you take a big risk every time you share your body with someone else.
With the plethora of diseases that can be transmitted- and now added to the list, a newcomer, ZIKV, it seems like it may be time for us to consider another option. Perhaps we can fix it with technology. We already know that masturbation is the safest sex there is, but without losing the beautiful connection that we share during intimacy, perhaps we can find a way, through technology to still enjoy sex and reduce the risk of STDs. Let's take a look at some of the options:
I have always been a customer, advocate and fan of using sex toys. Though some persons still believe that only single, lonely people have the interest in or use for toys, this couldn't be further from the truth. My favourite thing about sex toys is the variety, as there is a toy for everyone, no matter the taste. Some persons are only familiar with dildos and other phallic-shaped toys and vibrators, but there are so much more, and that can range from a simple bullet to a sex swing and everything in between.
I recently saw the specifications for a high tech sex robot. This robot is very far from the static blow-up doll - she talks, moves, even responds to stimuli. All her orifices - mouth, vagina and anus - are functional and responsive. Honestly, the only thing this sex robot does not do is housework.
Virtual, interactive games are already in existence on traditional video games. Now the technology is being applied to sexual stimulation and it's amazing. With these games, there are sensors that stimulate areas on the body.
Simply put, kink is just a word used to describe sexual activities that are outside the norm like bondage, costumes, parties, etc. Adding some kink to your sex play can bring a level of adventure and forces you to step out of the usual intercourse so you can discover other ways to find your climax.
Let me be clear, I am not suggesting that people stop having sex with each other. The purpose of this exercise is to explore the options available if you want to try something else. After all, technology has helped us soar to new heights in transportation, communication and even manufacturing, so there is nothing stopping us from applying it to sexuality. So invest in a new toy and have some fun. Stay Sexy.
Dear Dr Sexy-Ann,
I feel a cramp whenever I have intercourse with my boyfriend. His penis is on the bigger side, so I don't know if maybe that's the problem. But I don't enjoy it when he is inside me. What can I do?
Lisa, Ocho Rios
It's hard to determine if the cramp is only because of your boyfriend's 'gift' or if it's medical without more information. I will recommend that you ask your doctor to take a look at it. If nothing's wrong, then maybe you can try to use some lubrication during intercourse, and that can help to make it a bit more comfortable.
