Samantha J buzzes with new single

Jamaican singer/songwriter Samantha J has kicked off 2016 with the release of the long-awaited music video for her latest buzz single, 'Bad Like Yuh'.

The video comes on the heels of a successful 2014-2015, which led to her being signed by Columbia Records, in partnership with Oceanic Tradewinds.

Since its release, the fast-rising single is already tracking at more than 250,000 views, and has led to an overall 30 per cent increase in social-media engagement from users.

Over the past 18 months, Samantha J had been in and out of a multiple-date promotional tour across the US. The tour also extended to several stops in Canada.

Bad Like Yuh was filmed in Samantha J's hometown of Ocho Rios as a welcome-home celebration for her 19th

birthday.

"Getting to shoot a music video with all of my real friends in Jamaica is just a dream come true, and to shoot it on my birthday, it doesn't get any better than that! Watching this music video truly puts a smile on my face. I always tell people overseas that they should take a trip to Jamaica, and this video is the trip I would take them on," says Samantha J.

The Washroom Entertainment-produced single is another confidence booster for Oceanic Tradewinds' president Gary Bernstein, who believes that the song has the potential for crossover as its predecessors, including Tight Skirt:
