Davianah to release EP
Dancehall artiste Davianah is gearing up for the September 30 release of her Bad One EP. She is doing an aggressive online media marketing programme to engage fans and boost sales.
"With every purchase of the EP, people will receive free Davianah and Bad One 'merch', and also a ticket to a virtual Bad One concert planned for October," she said.
The EP will feature five tracks and was released under her own label, Davianah Music. The Bad One concert will also feature T'Jean Bennett.
Since her 2011 debut, Davianah has been making steady progress on the music scene, and has become known both for her melodic, attractive reggae freestyles as well as controversial hard-hitting ones that have won her numerous fans through social media.
Chapz Muzik and Kiing Dre deliver single for the ladies
Recording artiste Chapz Muzik and poet Kiing Dre have teamed up for the single Touch Your Body, which they say is dedicated to the ladies.
The visuals behind the track will be released in the coming weeks. Chapz Muzik shared how the collaboration came about.
" Touch Your Body was done over a year ago, but the effect of my father's death took a toll and I had to hold it off. My father was another industry player lost to unnecessary violence and it affects every aspect of my life even today, but I had to get up and decide to carry on his glory," he said.
"Kiing Dre and I have been friends since we both migrated to the United States and I always knew he had writing skills, so we decided to take it to the studio, and as it turned out, he is multitalented and as such, he dropped a rap verse on the single."
Kiing Dre added that when it comes to music, the chemistry between himself and Chapz Muzik is evident.
"Either I find the beats and introduce it to Chapz, then we build on the ideas together, or it's the other way around. We spend so much time perfecting our craft, it's like we're making hits every week," he said.
Khalfani endorses 'Curfew'
Music producer Khalfani is reiterating the plea for Jamaicans to follow COVID-19 protocols as he promotes Ding Dong's latest single, Curfew, that he helped to create.
"We understand that the country is in a crisis mode right now, so we all have to wear our masks and practise social distancing to keep the virus in check, so we can get back to our normal lives soon and reopen the entertainment sector," Khalfani said.
The Government has been imposing no-movement days in an effort to help stem the spread of the deadly coronavirus. The song was released on August 24.
"We are working on doing the visuals soon, but the lockdowns and no-movement days are making it hard logistically to get everything we need done in the allotted time," Khalfani explained.
The song is the lead single from a larger project that includes heavyweight artistes such as Shenseea, Jafrass, Jah Vinci, IWaata and Christopher Martin.
