Queen Kamarla calls on colleagues to help fight crime
Recording artiste/peace advocate Queen Kamarla is calling on her colleagues in the music industry to help in the fight against crime.
"As entertainers, we have a role to play in building a safer and better society for all Jamaicans. Therefore, I'm asking all my colleagues in the Jamaican music industry to lift up their voices against crime and violence. Some of us are singing songs that send negative messages to the people and we need to stop. Let's uplift the minds of our people and clean up Jamaica," said the artiste.
The Trench Town-born deejay is currently enjoying a huge buzz with her single titled Crime and Violence. The anti-violence song, which was produced and released by the A & K Catalyst Entertainment Group imprint, is currently enjoying heavy rotation both locally and overseas.
Queen Kamarla is also gearing up to continue her Stop The Crime and Violence series. The initiative, which is being staged under the theme 'The Children Are The Future', is scheduled to take place at the intersection of Beeston Street and Love Lane in downtown Kingston on April 18.
"I've been doing these events for over a decade now to promote peace in the inner-city communities of Jamaica. The most recent ones were held in Trench Town and Payne Land in December. This month we're turning the focus on downtown Kingston. There will be lots of entertainment, activities, refreshments and food for both the young and the old," she said.
