Reggae artiste Da'Ville has been getting steady traction for his new lovers' rock release titled ' Better'.

The song was produced by DJ Lux and Rolando and sees the sultry singer returning to vocals reminiscent of his prime. Da'Ville, who has a catalogue of hits dating back to the early 2000s, believes the musical atmosphere is right for some authentic Jamaican music.

"I have no problems what the youths are doing because as a creative space, Jamaica is always going to be on the cusp of creating new sounds. If we weren't creating new sounds we would not have had several genres under our belt or inspired countless others," he said. "However as a man who has been doing this for a long time and who has toured the world, I know the power of authentic reggae and dancehall and as such, some of us have a duty to feed those fans."

DJ Lux opined that the music industry needs more 'real' singers. According to the radio DJ-turned-producer, the airwaves is dominated by deejays.

"Everyone can't just be bad suh and chop line and those antics. People want peace also and people want melodic tunes. So while they are busy making the environment toxic we are over here making good soothing music. Life is about balance and a record like Better is giving music lovers that type of balance," he said.

With Better not containing profane language or sexually suggestive lyrics, DJ Lux believes artistes can sell sex without literally painting graphic images. However, he was not quick to throw artistes who release explicit content under the bus.

"For older folks to pretend that this generation started slackness, that is hypocrisy and one of the greatest lies ever told. Therefore, I am not going to say the artistes should do 'clean' music," he said. Better is featured on the 'Easy Love' rhythm which features other artistes, including Lutan Fyah, Half Pint, Shawn Storm and Temple.
