Dancehall legend Bounty Killer is stepping into 2025 with a bold mission to inspire and to continue creating a legacy that transcends music.

When asked about his resolution for 2025, the 'poor people governor' laid it bare: "Just stay wiser and stronger, spread love and aspire to inspire. My resolution is always to be a better person than I was before, and that never changes."

But that's not all. Bounty is gearing up for a groundbreaking year with a project that's sure to shake the industry -- a full reggae album, his first-ever body of work dedicated entirely to the genre.

"No dancehall, just all reggae tracks," he revealed. "I have been doing reggae, but just one or two times, never a full body of work with reggae. So that's my main project that I am working on for 2025 -- and more things to come."

This reggae venture promises to showcase a new side of Bounty Killer, blending his signature grit with the soulful rhythms of the genre. Fans can expect an authentic experience, as he taps into the roots of Jamaican music to deliver tracks that inspire and unite.

The dancehall veteran spoke with THE STAR following his performance at the inaugural Bounty Killer & Friends concert, held at Sabina Park in Kingston. Despite a late start, the event exceeded expectations. The crowd was in a frenzy during performances by Busy Signal, Agent Sasco, Cham, Richie Stephens, Bling Dawg, and, of course, Bounty Killer. Popcaan graced the stage in true 'unruly' fashion, performing several hits to the delight of fans. He and Bounty Killer shared what they called a "legendary moment", embracing on stage after Popcaan performed his smash single Family and offered a heartfelt "Big up!" to Bounty.

What added to the excitement and increased the energy in the atmosphere was Vybz Kartel, coming off the heights of hosting one of Jamaica's most memorable dancehall events, Freedom Street, on New Year's Eve. His appearance on stage stirred the crowd, and although he didn't perform, his mere presence following the buzz of Freedom Street sent fans into a frenzy.

The 'Ghetto Gladiator' expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support he has received from fans whenever he performs.

"I just want to say gratitude, and it is highly appreciated, because it is not all of us who get this type of a support," he said. "So, it shows that the people still stand with Bounty Killer as the 'poor people governor' and the man who brings youth and opportunity without seeking monetary gain, but just out of the love of doing it. Jamaica is my bread and butter, because it all started from Jamaica, and when the world shunned me, Jamaica stood up with me; so a Jamaica me seh always."
