Reggae artiste Jah Torch is upbeat as his music career continues to soar to new heights.

"I'm very pleased with the way my career is going, things are looking very good right now. Last year I toured the US for the first time. Since then, I've been getting a lot of requests for dubplates from sound systems based in the US. I'm also scheduled to return to the US later this year for a series of shows," said the artiste.

The St Elizabeth-born singer is currently enjoying much attention with a cover of The Temptations' 1964 hit, The Way You Do The Things You Do. The song, which he produced, was released in February on his Jah Torch music imprint.

"I'm getting a lot of positive feedback about this song. A lot of people have told me that they love how I sing so smoothly on an uptempo dancehall beat," said the singer. In 1989, the award-winning British reggae group UB40 topped several charts worldwide with a cover of the same song.

Jah Torch said that he's confident that his version of the song will also be a hit.

"Everyone who's recorded this song has enjoyed tremendous success globally. I believe my version will also be a hit. Therefore, my team and I are doing everything to make this happen," he said.
