Beauty is big business. The cosmetologist knows this all too well.
This week, THE STAR has again sought to make linkages between employers to employees in its Jobs and Careers section. Following a search of the Gleaner Classifieds for job postings, our news team reached out the female proprietor of A1 Training Institute located of Waltham Park Road in Kingston, who wished to remain unnamed.
The classified advertisement posted by the entity called for "3 Cosmetologist" who "must can do nails to start Monday".
Ordinarily, cosmetologists are persons who are licensed professionals tasked with the sometimes tough job of improving a client's physical appearance by improving the condition of a customer's nails, hair or skin.
When THE STAR talked with the proprietor, she appeared to be a woman of very few words, but managed to utter a few tips to persons desirous filling the three vacancies. The business operator did, however, make it clear that all persons interested must possess certification from a reputable institution, in cosmetology, namely the HEART Trust's School of Cosmetology. They should also be able to play the role of a teacher in the realm.
"They should have a level two or three certification from HEART. They should walk with their documents," she said. "I would prefer someone, a female, who is more jovial from 25 upwards,"
It appears that being pleasant helps in landing the job, too. "When they come, they must be jovial," the proprietor added.
Interested cosmetologists are invited to call the administrator at 319-4041 for further information.
