Mysterious Fish Kill in St Catherine leaves vendors happy

A massive fish kill in Bog Walk St Catherine have left persons concerned about Public Health problems.

Reports are that about midday Friday, hundreds of fish were seen floating in the Rio Cobre. They were salvaged by persons who placed them in bags, pots and pans.

As the news circulated throughout, scores of persons converged on the bridge above.

"We are going to sell them, as we need money to deal with the bills, this is god-send," Marcus Thelwell otherwise called Police said.

Meanwhile other persons said that it is a Possible disaster.

Their concerns are that it is not known what caused the "kill" to occur.

The Bog Walk police have contacted the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) for assistance.

Meanwhile residents of the surrounding areas are hoping that the problem can be resolved without any serious health implications.
