Jamaican held with ganja in Barbados

A Jamaican national was held by Barbadian authorities at the Grantley Adams International Airport in the country after he was found with a quantity of ganja in his possession last Wednesday.

Charged with possession of cannabis, possession with intent to supply cannabis, trafficking cannabis and importation of cannabis is 29-year-old Donovan Ashban Small.

According to reports, Small arrived at the airport on April 27 when he was interviewed by Drug Squad personnel and referred to customs.

It is said that a search of his luggage by customs personnel unearthed 10 pounds of cannabis, which he was allegedly attempting to smuggle into the island.

Small is yet to be sentenced for the offence.
