A policeman from the Area 3 police attempted to kill himself yesterday when he climbed on top of a commercial building on Park Crescent in Mandeville, Manchester.

Witnesses said the cop was dressed in uniform and his face masked. He also had a piece of rope.

It is believed that he was there for more than two hours, knotting the rope, placing it around his neck and removing it several times. With the help of a Jamaica Public Service utility truck, the fire brigade, and the police, after many attempts, they were successful in getting the cop down from the building.

It is understood that the policeman is now being counselled by personnel from Northern Caribbean University.
