Cayman's Shoe Tree
The Cayman Shoe Tree was started by Wolfgang Brocklebank and his fiancee Giovanna Inselmini in 2004. Brocklebank and his fiancee were disgusted by the garbage on the beach and decided to do something about it
The couple was crazy about recycling and inspired hundreds of persons to begin nailing shoes and slippers they found on the beach to a random South Sound tree.
Photo journalist Ricardo Makyn was in the Cayman Islands last week and drove by the South Sound main road in George Town, Grand Cayman, where he captured some interesting photographs.
