It was a chaotic scene yesterday morning along a section of the St Catherine to Clarendon leg of Highway 2000, close to the border of both parishes, as several persons helped themselves to goods that were being transported in a van that was involved in an accident.

It is reported that the driver of the van, which belongs to Sun Factory Jamaica, pulled over to check on a flat tyre when an oncoming car rear ended it, flipping it on to its top.

One of the Sun Factory employees, who was outside the vehicle, suffered a broken leg, while another member of staff escaped relatively unscathed.

However, the driver of the car was seriously injured. and later died at hospital. He is Dorren Baker of Seaforth, St Thomas.

But persons who arrived on the scene shortly after the crash, quickly made off with goods that were being transported in the van.

While some persons tried to assist the victims, others carried away bags of products.
