Former most wanted remanded for shooting

WESTERN BUREAU:

A St James man who previously featured on the police's most wanted list, was remanded in custody following his most recent appearance in the St James Parish Court last Wednesday.

Timoy Spence, of a Tucker address, is charged with shooting with intent.

Spence and his brother, Leon, had been wanted by the police in relation to a shooting incident which occurred at Red Square, Tucker, on January 31.

It is alleged that the men were involved in a dispute with another man at Red Square, when both of them brandished firearms and opened fire on the other man.

Timoy and Leon Spence were subsequently listed among the parish's most wanted men. They later turned themselves in to the police in February, in the company of their attorney.

When Timoy Spence appeared in court last Wednesday, it was disclosed that several documents were outstanding from the prosecution's case file, including the ballistic report, the scene-of-crime report, and a DNA report.

As a result, Parish Judge Sandria Wong-Small ordered that Spence be remanded in custody until September 12, when the case will be set for mention.
